After many years in sales, both straight commission and base + commission, financial products and other products & services, I feel it is time to move on to new adventures and opportunities. I really enjoy working with people, in the business community, and individually, solving problems.
Just not the eat, sleep, and breathe necessity of prospecting, just feels this takes away from productive work to best help clients.
Looking for the feeling of accomplishment, of being able to point to something and say “I did that, that is what makes my career worthwhile.” Sense of doing something.
This is one I can point to and say, ‘I did something good; I did something worthwhile.’”
I have many years of involvement in the Anchorage Business Community, mainly as a volunteer with the Anchorage Chamber of Commerce. I’m not afraid to take on challenges, challenging work environments, not too much routine on any given day. Ideally stay involved with the Anchorage Chamber of Commerce and the Alaskan business community.
Options I’m looking at and would appreciate feedback on:
I am looking to cast a wide net, see what is out there, not restrict myself in this new adventure.
I consider myself a “go-getter”, able to get things done, or at least point the client in the right direction, to the specialist they need. I have extensive contacts in the Anchorage business community, I may not know directly who you need to contact, but I know who to start reaching out to. I may not have direct contact, but I like to think I can start asking around to find you who you do need to talk to.
Willing to travel as part of a new position, certainly in Alaska, possibly in the Lower 48.
Relocation within Alaska is an option, Panhandle, Valdez, prefer to be on the road system, not Fairbanks though. One winter of -40* was enough for me.
The way out there option: Assuming Ukraine wins, nothing definite at the moment, a
dream opportunity is to help with the rebuilding, esp. Kharkiv, where I was an exchange student back in Fall ‘93. That’s something I would relocate temporarily out of AK for.

Options I’m looking at and would appreciate feedback on:
- Business Development.
- Account management of existing business/personal accounts, room for growth.
- Public relations of some kind.
- Liaison between industries, individuals, making connections.
- Connections that may not otherwise be made, or as quickly.
- Alaskan based and making a difference here in Anchorage/Alaska in general.
- Philanthropic Giving
- Somewhere in the Logistics/supply chain too using my skills and experience.
- Something challenging, not too much of a routine.
- “WoW” Customer service, get things done
- A mixture of some/all of the above.
